We have a number of different events taking place at the festival including John Rutter's Come and Sing Day and a performance by Tippett Quaret.
John Rutter
One of the world's most famous composers and conductors, a former undergraduate and later Director of Music, of Clare College, Cambridge, he is now an Honorary Fellow of the College and remains one of the foremost exponents of choral music in Cambridge and worldwide.
The music chosen for the day has a summer theme, and will include John Rutter's own Birthday Madrigals and folk-song cycle The Sprig of Thyme, together with a mixture of music old and new, with something for everyone and a few surprises.
Tippett Quartet
The Tippett Quartet is fast establishing a reputation as one of today's most exciting new string quartets. Drawing inspiration from the past and present alike, they are committed to combining mainstream repertoire with contemporary works, and have been described as 'bold and innovative … extraordinary technical accomplishment with flair and a bright communicative spark' (The Times).
