The LeeStock Music Festival is proud to announce the full line up for 2012. This years event is to be held at AFC Sudbury's MEL Group Stadium on June 3rd.
The Suffolk festival is now in it's fifth year and will run alongside the successful Live and Kicking event, held at the same venue on the following day.
Having already confirmed American indie pop-rock group, Wheatus (famous for Teenage Dirtbag, A Little Respect) and 1990's pop group D:Ream will be our main headliners, the full line up for this years event is detailed below with a brief band biography. Mark Morriss of The Bluetones and Nigel Clark of Dodgy also both return to Suffolk after headlining last year's festival.
The acoustic stage will be headlined by Nick Howard who's recent work can be found on The Hills, Jersey Shore, Next, True Life and many other TV shows and films. Supporting the acoustic stage will be LeeStock regulars Jack O'Brien and Michael John Mcglone along with Teddy Driscoll, Polly Haynes, Abbie Broom, Yan Baker and Jason Rampling.
LeeStock was organized in memory of a local friend who died aged just 21 after a four year battle against cancer. Since that time the Suffolk based music festival has grown year after year. The festival, and its related fundraising events, have so far raised £30,000.00 in Lee's memory and for the Willow Foundation, a charity aimed at improving the lives of seriously ill young adults.
Live and Kicking is an outdoor, 10-hour music extravaganza, now in its third year. Last year's festival was headlined by seventies glam-rock legends Sweet (Ballroom Blitz, Block Buster, Wig Wam Bam) and organisers have announced tribute bands to Bon Jovi, Coldplay and The Commitments, amongst others, will be performing this Summer. The event is the main fundraising event for AFC Sudbury Football Club.
Joining Wheatus, D:Ream, Mark Morriss and Nigel Clark at LeeStock will be:
The Crimson Dixies
Previous LeeStock headliners and main support for Dodgy at last years festival. They are true LeeStock favourites so a return to the main stage is of no surprise.
Ideals
Originally from Ipswich in Suffolk but now based in London, with cracking tunes like Lungs and amazing promotional videos (the YouTube video has had over 25,000 views alone!), it's clear to see why these guys were booked.
Lemonparty
After their debut at LeeStock 2011, the Sudbury based group were one of the first names on the list to be asked back, bringing you their own interpretation of funk, ska, rock and pop'. They'll certainly get you off your seat.
Sons Of Icarus
Led Zeppelin infleunced hard rocking band who have just announced a tour of Scotland. They also beat hundreds of groups to win The Marshall Amplifiers ‘Ultimate Band Contest’. I also have to mention that they played Download and Sonisphere last year...!? Don't miss them!
The Tom Sanderson Band
Mr Tom Sanderson is in-fact the only act to have played at every LeeStock Music Festival so far. So for many fans he will be the first name they look out for, returning with his band for second year running, a true LeeStock legend.
Howl Griff
Formed in Wales but band members are from Aberystwyth, Bolton, Merseyside and Texas!! Howl Griff played at 'The Road to LeeStock' before the 2011 event and went down so well we asked them back for this years festivities.
Two Steps Twice
They have played at London’s famous O2 Arena, during the ‘Live and Unsigned’ competition. They we're eventually placed in the top twenty acts out of an initial ten-thousand. How can you refuse that?
