Solarsphere Astronomical And Music Festival

Join us for a relaxed, small, family friendly festival where you can learn about various aspects of the universe we live in while chilling out and enjoying the live music, comedy and workshops too.

Solarsphere is held on a farm in Builth Wells, Mid Wales where we are blessed to be surrounded by beautiful countryside under dark skies (for observing)! If you have telescopes do bring them. If you don't have your own, we will have a couple there for you to use so don't worry. Weather permitting there will be experts available to talk you through what is in the night sky and show you the delights of the sky through their telescopes! There will also be chance to learn a little more about DSLR Photography for those who are interested in the imaging side of Astronomy.

During the day there will be 'solar' telescopes available for you to look at Sun spots and flares (again weather permitting). Experts will be available there to answer your questions too.

There will be plenty of opportunity to learn more by attending some or all of the talks about various aspects of Astronomy (see website for details).

In addition there will be workshops for children (which adults can join in too)! From making Solar System bracelets to tasting Astronaut Food!

There will be a planetarium on site for those who want to take in an out of this world cosmic experience! and not forgetting there will be a magician on site weaving wonder amongst you and a face painter to make you all look pretty! FRIDAY NIGHT IS SCI FI FANCY DRESS!!!! dress as your favourite space character! (optional, but fun to do)!

All of the entertainment is indoors and will not affect observing which is in the top field of the venue and will be restricted to red torch light only (PLEASE READ ALL DETAILS ON THE WEBSITE)

Last year was so much fun and this year will be even better! Camping is FREE so join us for this fun, affordable and educational weekend!
