Details	Food lovers note the date - Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink returns in the school Easter holidays in 2012 from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th April when the Cultural Quarter of the city of Exeter celebrates the outstanding food and drink of the South West. Spend the weekend at the South West’s ultimate foodie event and watch top TV celebrity chefs work their magic. Pick up tips in expert masterclasses, indulge in fine dining at the new Gourmet on the Go pop up restaurants and meet up and coming local food producers in Fresh at the Festival. Visitors can have fun in the new Little Cookies children’s area, get advice on herb, vegetable and fruit gardening and BBQ cooking tips in the mini show garden in the Fermoy’s Grow Your Own area, get hands on in the Darts Farm Food is Fun theatre and enjoy the atmosphere of the South West’s famous food and drink Festival in the beautiful surroundings of Exeter’s castle and Northernhay Gardens. From cheese and chocolate to chutney and cider, the three-day festival allows visitors to buy in the finest produce from over a hundred regional producers in two huge food pavilions. Michael Caines heads a cast of 30 of the South West’s top chefs demonstrating their skills in the Festival cookery theatre as well as top tips and tricks from a host of Masterchef faces including James Nathan, Mat Follas and Jackie Kearney. Michael Caines, Exeter Festival Co-Founder says, “The amazing atmosphere of fun, good food and inspiring producers is the reason why so many visitors return to the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink every year. We have the region’s best food and drink, outstanding chefs and great family hands-on activities – we guarantee visitors will have a fantastic day out.” When the sun goes down, stay and enjoy the Festival After Dark Party on both Friday and Saturday nights making this a full weekend of fun and food with two evenings of music from outstanding local bands plus a mouth-watering array of stalls serving delicious regional fare, real ales and cider. Now in its ninth year, Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink is supported by Exeter City Council.
