The World’s Largest Philosophy and Music Festival
The world’s largest philosophy and music festival returns to Hay-on-Wye this summer. Feed your minds, bodies and souls at HowTheLightGetsIn Festival from the 26th May – 5th June. The week is packed with stimulating debates, covering everything from politics and art to philosophy and science. Speakers this year include Green Party leader Natalie Bennett, Nobel Prize-winner Frank Wilczek and actors Helen Lederer and Sally Phillips, and former Conservative leader Michael Howard. Meanwhile on the music front we’ll be joined by headliners like Gilles Peterson, Fairport Convention, King Charles and Mercury Prize nominees Ghostpoet, C Duncan and ESKA. Party Passes for each evening session are now available, see the full line up in our programme:
There’ll be more than 650 events that include debates, talks, music, comedy from the likes of Jo Brand and Robin Ince and cabaret performances that will dazzle and amaze until the Midnight Mayhem parties begin. Not to mention, the spectacular Spiegel Circus where Brighton’s Gypsy Disco will perform acrobatic, awe-inspiring wonders, leading up to their late-night burlesque show.
There’ll be plenty of time relax during the day, whether that’s yoga at the Kanga Spa, dining over a Long Table Banquet, or meeting the speakers for a chat over tea and cake – or even an evening wine tasting - at the Open Platform sessions.
