Big Love Festival is a new 3-day music festival-holiday camp held in and around a huge country mansion over the early May bank holiday weekend. We’re a small, friendly and fiercely independent festival, so expect an eclectic mix of the best music acts, peppered with pop-up discos, late night warehouse parties, woodland raves, performance and art.
The focus isn’t on headliners - although with the likes of Ibibio Sound Machine, Fantazia, Andy Cooper (Ugly Duckling) and Bodhi playing, there are some big names on the bill - but on creating magical moments and experiences that will make your weekend escape memorable.
It takes place in a hotel steeped in rave and festival history and set in the lush surroundings of the Wye Valley in Wales, just over an hour’s drive from Cardiff, Bristol and the Midlands. There are 5 main stages, 3 indoor in case the evening get chilly, with music till 5am.
We've got warehouse parties from rave legends Fantazia (inc. Shades of Rhythm, Easygroove, Kenny Ken), a Saturday night cosmic disco with Bristol promoters Alfresco Disco, and a Vintage Remix Ball with the likes of Big Swing Sound & Hype Man Sage and Rumpsteppers, plus a secret woodland disco with Cardiff's Blue Honey.
Other acts include Jodie Abacus, Johnny Cage and the Voodoo Groove, The Fantasy Orchestra with a David Bowie tribute, Richie Vibe Vee, plus live sessions programmed by Clwb Ifor Bach and Gwdihw featuring The Brymns, Rum Puppets and Mike Dennis among others. Our BBC Horizons stage will be showcasing emerging talent CaStLeS, Danielle Lewis & Roughion.
There will be DJs, beats and pop-up parties from promoters TEAK with Telephones (Berlin) and Francis Inferno Orchestra; Groove Theory; Chrome Kids; MOOD; Dutty Girls and Bump'n'Grind. Plus a Bowie-themed fireworks display, Trax on Wax with King Tubby's vintage dub sound system, yoga, talent contests, arts and crafts, sports day, oak panelled dining room, pub and lots of silly stuff.
Big Love is all about inclusivity, and we aim to make the festival as affordable as possible, with tickets under a hundred pounds, drinks at pub prices, free parking for cars and no extra charge for camper vans.
Boutique accommodation options include hotel rooms, gypsy bowtop caravans, bell tents and Unidomes, with the hotel’s swimming pool, sauna and showers (and toilets) open to all festival goers… plus a giant sky-barn yurt cocktail bar and the UK’s best street food traders. |
