TOP BOUTIQUE FESTIVAL RETURNS WITH A STELLAR MUSIC, COMEDY AND AUTHOR LINE UP
Pylewell Park, New Forest, 20th to 23rd July, www.curiousartsfestival.com

Charmingly reckless, the UK’s most eclectic and illuminating festival, Curious is back with prize winning and bestselling novelists, live music from singer songwriter superstars and the current most exciting bands and the cream of the UK’s comedy talent. Plus a uniquely engaging programme for children and all in the stunning Solent-side setting of privately owned Pylewell Park in the heart of the New Forest.

Highlights this year include:

• Music from some of the UK’s most exciting singer songwriter talent – JOHN NEWMAN, back on chart-topping form with brand new single ‘Fire In Me’ headlines this year – with OUTLYA, FLYTE and electronic rock duo MILKY CHANCE who exploded on to the music scene with debut track ‘Stolen Dance’ currently on 370 million YouTube views.

• Comedy from legendary AL MURRAY, Radio 4 regular SIMON EVANS, lightening-quick sketch group THE NOISE NEXT DOOR and gifted character act MILO McCABE. Cambridge footlights graduate BEN POPE and award-winning LAURA LEXX also join on the comedy stage.

• The chance to join a choir with other festivalgoers led and coached to a final performance by choirmaster GARETH MALONE.

• A packed children’s programme of poetry and film workshops, author events with among others fiction prize winner PIERS TORDAY and ROB LLOYD JONES, scarey tales from immortal wizard THE STORY BEAST, cartoon clubs, weekend long arts and crafts, and comedy for kids from JAMES CAMPBELL, ALICE FRAZER and JO NEARY with her Peg in the Gallery kids show.

• An inspired literary line up of author events from amongst many others celebrated adult and children’s author MATT HAIG, journalist, historian and McMafia creator MISHA GLENNY, KATE MOSSE (Labyrinth) on her new book The Burning Chamber, LYNN BARBOUR, MIRIAM DARLINGTON, JAMIE REID, doctor turned comedy writer ADAM KAY (This is Going to Hurt about his time as an NHS doctor) and People’s Poet LEMN SISSAY.

• Restauranteur and Polpo founder RUSSELL NORMAN on his new book Venice and journalists DOLLY ALDERTON (on her book Everything I Know about Love) and SALI HUGHES (author of Pretty Honest).

Expect illuminating adventures, lively literary chat, breakfast briefings on the day's news, cocktail masterclasses, cartoon clubs, insect walks, pop up theatre and printmaking and puppet making, a pop-up choir, story-telling and journalism workshops.

You might find yourself learning how to write a Petrarchan sonnet, losing your life-savings at Black-Jack, creating a vintage doll's house from scratch or joining a LOVE workshop among many other experiences such as midnight bat, life drawing and cocktail masterclasses. Pop up fine dining and even a cricket match make this a dreamy, fun, eccentric and ultimately inimitable weekend

A firm favourite in the festival firmament and with a capacity of just 5,000, Curious will take place from 20th to 22nd July 2018. Full price weekend tickets are £128, with children over 5 and over at just £23. Children under 5 are free. Early-bird weekend tickets (£103 adult, £225 family) are now on sale
