The 2011 Mull of Kintyre Music Festival on August 18th – 21st has once again secured a great line-up of Scottish and international acts whilst also adding a new concert on the Saturday night of the event. The Saturday night format changes back to two concerts and the Festival committee are delighted to announce that The Bootleg Beatles will Headline the all standing Victoria Hall concert and The Karen Matheson Band will headline the new Traditional concert in the Heritage Centre. Karen Matheson will be supported by well known singer songwriter Jim Malcolm and Susanne Houston whilst The Twisted Melons will support the Bootleg Beatles. The Festival also welcomes back the Fergie MacDonald Band (by popular demand) to play at the Festival Ceilidh on Friday 19th Aug. Fergie will be joined by the outstanding Welsh band Jamie Smith’s Mabon who will play the concert set and local band Ceann Tir. On Sunday 21st we have Ali Hutton & Kevin O’Neil joint headlining the Dalriada Connections Concert with Lorne MacDougall’s Hello World Band in the afternoon and The Fillers headlining Survivors Night in the evening.

Firm festival favourites like the Young Folk Night on Thursday evening, Festival Parade (featuring the new Festival Cup), Doon the Green on Saturday (featuring Cabin Fever) the Festival Club with Open Mic, music workshops and sessions will all be in place this year to ensure there is something for everyone. With other elements like Campbeltown Brass Band coffee morning and the Kintyre Schools and Sound of Kintyre Pipe Band performances, children’s entertainment with The Funky Chicken these all go together to make a weekend of music and fun for all the family.
