WHAT'S ON AT THE FESTIVAL
POPPLETON LIVE FESTIVAL: 5th-10th MAY 2015
After the success of last year's one day event we are stepping up our game. The 2015 Festival will be bigger and better, adding several nights of entertainment to the tried and tested one day festival. We are also broadening our horizons to include drama, comedy and a classical music event and we are hoping to add a few more events very soon.
It's all indoors, so this is one festival where you definitely won't get wet or have to wade through mud!
Tickets are now on sale - as always though, friends of Poppleton Live get the opportunity to reserve tickets in advance. Some of the events were already well over 60% allocated before they went on general release. Please join our growing list of friends now if you don't want to miss out on future events and special offers.
We are so chuffed with the quality of entertainment we've planned and can't wait to share all this talent with you.

For the first time we are adding drama to the Poppleton Live Festival programme. The excellent Badapple Theatre will be performing their new comedy drama, The Unlikely Dads.

Wed 6th May 2015
Barron Knights
Tickets: £22.50
The legendary Barron Knights are coming to Poppleton!
You'll be treated to old favourites like Call Up The Groups, their inimitable version of the William Tell Overture and the Flamenco party piece Malaguana. They will also be performing a parody of Killer Queen (will Camilla be queen?) and a song about what happens to your body as you get older in a hilarious take on 'Windmills of your Mind'
This is definitely a crowd pleasing show not to be missed.

Thu 7th May 2015
Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel
& Joseph Morpurgo
Tickets: £15.00
When we decided to add an evening of comedy to the Festival, we searched high and low to find something novel, interesting and with great reviews. When we found out about Austentatious we knew we had found what we were looking for.
This show is novel...or to be exact - a novel! Austentatious is an entirely improvised comedy play in the style of the wondrous & witty Jane Austen, based on nothing more than a title from the audience.
We are also delighted that the talented Joseph Morpurgo will be opening the evening with a preview of his 2015 solo show. Anticipate the silly, the scary, and plenty of second-hand vinyl.
This promises to be a fabulous and hilarious night out.

Fri 8th May 2015
Fairport Convention & Roz Firth
Tickets: £22.50
We are really pleased to be welcoming back Fairport Convention. Having headlined our one day festival last year and met with such a great audience, they were keen to return.
We are also delighted to be introducing the talented Roz Firth to you. We were blown away by her videos on YouTube and we're sure you will be too.

Sat 9th May 2015
Ralph McTell
Jez Lowe & many more
Tickets: £40.00
We are delighted that Ralph McTell will be headlining our main festival day. In addition we have a whole host of other great musicians.
Jez Lowe has agreed to return and we will also be hearing music from Gilded Thieves, Deborah Rose, Keegan Snaize, Grand Old Uke of York and Zak Ford. Check out the details on the website to find out more about each of the performers.
We will be having a tea-time break, as we did at the 2014 festival, giving you a chance to stretch your legs and get fed and watered ready for Ralph McTell in the evening.

Sun 10th May 2015
Last Night of the Proms
Shepherds Group Brass Band
Tickets: £15.00
We are broadening our musical horizons this year with an evening of classical music.
Talented violinist, Amy Fields, will be performing a range of works and the fantastic Shepherd Group Brass Band will be entertaining us with a varied program finishing with all the popular and rousing music you would expect at the Last Night of the Proms. Make sure you bring your flags and best singing voices.
