River Cottage Spring Food Fair

We love every season for different reasons here at River Cottage, but even we’ll admit that spring is one of the best. So pull on your wellies, round up the family and join the team on the farm for a weekend full of growing, cooking and (most importantly) eating, at the River Cottage Spring Food Fair. Please note that Hugh will be attending on Saturday and Sunday but not on the Monday of the fair.

Held on Saturday 28, Sunday 29 and Monday 30 May 2016, the fair will be a hands-on celebration of all things River Cottage. Wander the market stalls selling fresh local produce, watch craftsman demonstrating their ironwork, woodwork and hurdle making skills, pull up a bale and enjoy a seasonal cocktail from the Heron Valley cocktail yurt, listen to talks and live music on the decking, work up an appetite by joining in with a garden and foraging tours or sit back and be entertained by sheepdogs herding ducks!

You’ll be able to get your cookbooks signed by Hugh himself, and our other River Cottage experts will be on hand to share their culinary tips and seeds of gardening wisdom – all set against the backdrop of TV’s most famous farmhouse.

The Main Stage will be packed with cookery demonstrations throughout the day. On Sunday, chef Angela Hartnett will be joining us on the main stage. Angela’s CV is simply outstanding. Currently chef-proprietor of Murano, which holds a Michelin Star, she is involved with several restaurants, appears regularly on TV and has written two superb cookbooks.
