On Sunday 3rd May, head to the beautiful South Devon town of Salcombe for this annual celebration of all things crab. With activities for the children, fantastic chef demonstrations, wonderful food and drink, live music plus shopping opportunities galore, there is so much to enjoy.

Stroll through the Creek car park and along Island Street – which is for one day only pedestrianised – browsing the market stalls and exhibits from local craftsmen. Sample local food and drink whilst sitting beside the estuary, watching the boats bob on the water. Or why not head to the Chef Demo Marquee, where you can sit back and enjoy top tips from some of the fabulous locally and nationally acclaimed chefs.

This year the chef line up is bigger and better than ever before! Confirmed chefs include the Rick Stein Exec Chef Stephane Delourme, the Rockfish Group Head Chef Kirk Gosden, BBC1s Saturday Kitchen chefs Freddy Bird and Jane Baxter. Other returning chefs include the Oyster Shack’s Andy Richardson, Ocean’s head chef Janey Syrett and winner of the 2020 Trencherman’s Award for ‘Best Newcomer’, Jamie Rogers of Twenty Seven in Kingsbridge. Be sure to get there early for the best seats, and watch these chefs - plus many more - create delicious meals before your eyes!

Sponsored by Coast & Country Cottages, Salcombe Gin and Marchand Petit, Salcombe Crabfest is completely free to attend and is entirely in aid of charity. Over the past five years, the festival has raised in excess of £40,000 for local organisations. This year, the event will be raising funds for Dementia and Alzheimer’s organisations locally.
