Tribal Earth Summer Festival 16th – 19th August 2018 – Laughton, Near Lewes East Sussex

This year sees an eclectic line-up of bands and artists, and with over 30 acts playing on two stages there is something for everyone. Playing on the Feel-Good Music stage are Solana, who sum up the ethos of Tribal Earth’s musical tradition. Songlines described their music as “ranging from klezmer melodies, tingling tango, exuberant Irish folk and swinging jazz to pumping reggae and lilting Latin. “

Solana will be joined by some amazing bands – Regime, The Peoples String Foundation, Funke and the Two Tone Baby, Dende, Karyo, The Devine Family and many, many more. From Eastern European folk to global fusion, a cappella to calypso, bluegrass to urban gypsy and hip hop to Irish Folk, Tribal Earth’s music is real global mix.

Many Tribal Earth folk love the festival for its workshops and they run all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can start the morning with yoga, qi gong pranayama, kirtan, or laughter yoga. You can learn to play the kora (African harp) bodrhan (Irish drum) the penny whistle or learn Irish Singing. If you want to get your body moving there are plenty of dance sessions too, Indian, African and Belly Dance. Or you join the incredible 5 Rhythms workshop where you will be guided through patterns, waves and rhythms of movement to still the mind and energise the body - backed by live music from aLive. Tribal Earth is organised by a group of dedicated volunteers with profits donated to The Clock Tower Sanctuary supporting homeless young people in Brighton and Hove.
