Wealden Literary Festival is a festival of nature, creativity, wellbeing and outdoor adventures. The line-up features award-winning nature writers, authors and conservationists including Raynor Winn, Adam Nicolson, Dan Richards and Horatio Clare.

A highlight of the festival will be a panel debate considering the relationship between the land, wildlife and people. The debate involves leading figures from the world of nature, conservation and agriculture: Isabella Tree (Wilding); Mark Cocker (Our Place); Jake Fiennes (General Manager of Conservation at Holkham Estate); Andrew Clark (Director of Policy at NFU).

There’s also a packed children’s programme for younger readers, with authors Lucy Strange, Katharine McEwen, Christopher Lloyd and Frann Preston-Gannon.

Alongside author events, festival-goers can try their hand at foraging, fire craft and willow-weaving, learn botanical illustration and take part in creative writing and bookbinding workshops. Local craftspeople will demonstrate their unique skills and their creations and produce will be available to purchase.
