This family-friendly festival is a cross-generational celebration of the best in music, performance, storytelling and creative making. Details of 2011 are:
MUSIC - Acts are currently being programmed and will feature a variety of music genres including Acoustic, Folk, Rock n Roll, Swing, Boogie Woogie, Ska, Reggae and Classical.
Amplified music in the main tent will be played until 11.30pm with acoustic music until the early hours in the late night café bar.
CREATIVE MAKING - Throughout the weekend there will be opportunities to participate in a variety of creative making workshops under the direction of Alison Baxter, Head of Short Courses at West Dean.
The sessions will be run by leading craft practitioners whose own work will inspire and enthral all. (All materials included in the Festival ticket price).
The three making areas are: Textiles, Art & Word and 3D Making.

PERFORMANCE - Poets, Comedians, Magicians and Musicians will be performing around the site throughout the weekend.
WRITING - Greg Mosse, who runs West Dean College’s full-time MA Creative Writing, will be drawing on his vast contact list of inspirational writers to run workshops for adults and children.
FILM - Chichester’s famous art house cinema, Chichester Cinema at New Park, will be celebrating their 20th International Film Festival in August and September. Their artistic director, Roger Gibson, will be selecting highlights from their film festival to play at the West Dean Festival.
CHILDRENS AREA - An exciting and family friendly place to delight and engage the focused attention of children and teenagers. We’ll keep them occupied and inspired throughout the weekend.
