About
TBC - lineup not yet announced
Y Not Festival is held each summer at Pikehall, near Matlock in Derbyshire's Peak District. It started in 2005 as a house party for around 120 people, originally called the Big Gin Festival, after nearby Biggin, a name the main stage still carries - opened to the public as Y Not in 2006 and moved to Pikehall in 2007. It has since grown into a 40,000-capacity event.
The festival is known for an indie and rock focus, with dance, punk, folk and hip hop alongside, and past headliners include Arctic Monkeys, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Snoop Dogg, Foals, Royal Blood, Kasabian and Florence + the Machine. Comedy, family attractions, food and a big fancy dress culture round out the weekend, and it has won UK Festival Awards including Best Small Festival.
