An uplifting summer day of the finest folk, roots and acoustic music, Folk by the Oak delivers a family- friendly, relaxed vibe alongside the full-on festival experience!
2025 promises to be another brilliant year for this very special festival in Hatfield Park, with a line-up that brings together international legends with incredible up-and-coming talent:

Headliners are Ivor Novello Award nominees Bear’s Den, renowned for their anthemic songs, accomplished musicianship, flowing melodies and engaging lyrics

Also on the Main Stage:
- Mercury Prize Winner and 6-times BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Winner the ‘First Lady of Folk’ Kate Rusby, a consummate performer with a warm, Yorkshire wit and unprecedented cross-over appeal
- Fisherman’s Friends, the merry band of shanty singing fishermen and their friends who became world-famous thanks to the blockbuster self-titled feature films inspired by their story
- Grace Petrie - “a millennial’s Billy Bragg” (Huffington Post), an exceptional songwriter with razor sharp lyricism and a musician with presence, power and poetry at her fingertips
- Orchestra Baobab, one of West Africa’s most iconic bands whose live shows bring together an uplifting blend of Afro-Cuban and traditional griot music.

Headlining the Acorn Stage is neo-trad trio Project Smok. A band renowned for joyous, high energy performances that effortlessly blend trad music with contemporary new-age pop influences they promise to close the festival’s second stage in style!

Also on the Acorn stage you'll find Suntou Susso, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, percussionist, singer and composer from The Gambia with his 6 piece band, plus The Deep Blue, one of Manchester’s hottest new bands with their hypnotically beautiful harmonies masterfully fused with rebellious lyrics.

Overall there are 12 bands to enjoy at Folk by the Oak and, thanks to the festival’s unique schedule and clever layout of two stages in one beautiful Hatfield Park arena, you can catch every single set!

There’s even a dedicated family area within sight and sound of the Main Stage, with most of the activities free of charge, making the festival a truly family friendly day out for music lovers.
