The South West’s most anticipated family friendly festival this year hosts 7 stages of music, arts, entertainment and more. If you are looking for a festival to take everyone from Grandma to the children to then this is the one! Children 12 and under are FREE after all! Glas-Denbury is simply ALL about people; people immersing themselves in a wonderful weekend. The team behind it are passionate about the South West, passionate about people and passionate about putting on a safe, happy event. We want the whole family to come and enjoy a weekend away and be inspired, amazed, educated and go away smiling having made new friends! Whether you are a seasoned festival goer or have never been to a festival in your life then this is the one for you! Safe, compact and yet with surprises around every corner this is a little piece of magic in a beautiful Devon setting.
4 music stages offer a plethora of artists offering everything from soul to jazz, world music to pop, reggae to rock and more. Championing all things South West whilst bringing in artists from further afield as well, the line up this year includes the legendary 80s band The Blow Monkeys, foot stomping Exeter duo Sound of the Sirens, the soulful voice of Devon’s own Jo Harman, Boogie Woogie from the UK’s premier artist Henri Herbert, 20s swing and electro beats from Electric Swing Circus, Ska from Devon’s The Simmertones, Chap -Hop from Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer, the UKs favourite festival band Rsvp Bhangra, jump jive from Plymouth’s Company B, blues-rock from Torquay’s Kris Barras Band, Cornwalls Innereyefull and many many more.
But Glas-Denbury isn’t just about the music. This year the all new Pucker Poets Stage hosts an incredible line up of spoken word artists and performance poets from brands all over the South West including headliners such as TV’s Sean Hughes (Never Mind the Buzzcocks) Liv Torc, Mark Gwynne Jones and the UKs premier Spoken word show Tongue Fu. Grab a coffee and sit and relax whilst listening to the words that flow from these incredible artists mouths.
The Entertainment tent will provide hours of smiles and enjoyment, not only for the children but adults too. Jungle Jim and his whacky animals will be there together with Lavrak – contortionists, fire shows and stilt walkers extraordinaire. There will be magicians, storytellers, theatre groups and a ceilidh on the Saturday afternoon for all to partake in! And don’t forget to visit the Glitter Fairy HQ!
New this year is the Soundlaunch Emerging Talent Stage which will showcase some of the South West’s best emerging artists, hold campfire sessions, jams and also question and answer sessions with some of the artists playing at the festival. Glas-Denbury is passionate about raising the profile of the incredible artists we have here in the South West.
If it’s a boogie you like then the Disco Glitter Dome’s line up of Disco DJs will help you to boogie your socks off to disco sounds over the decades. Glitter, legwarmers and headbands optional of course!
Free workshops run throughout the festival for all ages including crafts with recycled objects in the Junkfish tent, woodwork with Sylvan Adventures, Science experiments with Seadream engineering or Sign Language workshops with Sign to Shine! Or perhaps learn to jive or do acro? The Dance Free Harmony Healing area will offer therapists as well as yoga, laughter yoga, singing and handstand workshops – somewhere to go and sit and indulge yourself or learn a new skill.
But festivals aren’t all about the music and entertainment – the food and drink is important too! The Butterfly Bazaar is filled with handpicked, high quality food stalls and the bars and cocktail bars are stocked with local real ale and cider, colourful cocktails and more, all at reasonable prices. There will be fantastic retail opportunities with stalls full of goodies to purchase and experiences to be had!
Glas-Denbury camping and family camping fields are right next to the arena so not far to wander back after a day of smiles and excitement! Family faciliities and accessible facilities are throughout the site – so come and dance in the daisies and shake your glittery hips and join us at Glas-Denbury!
