Depot Live is a summer concert series staged in the grounds of Cardiff Castle, run by DEPOT Live - the live events arm of Cardiff venue DEPOT - in partnership with Live Nation promoter Cuffe and Taylor. Launched in 2019, it has grown into one of the biggest runs of outdoor gigs in Wales, with the castle walls as a backdrop to every show.
Rather than a single weekend festival, the series is a run of separate headline concerts spread across the summer, each with its own line-up and ticket. Past headliners include Manic Street Preachers, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Avril Lavigne, The Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, IDLES, The National, Crowded House, Madness and Katy Perry, and the 2026 programme ran from Ethel Cain and Pete Tong to Bastille, Biffy Clyro, David Byrne and Hollywood Vampires.
The 2024 season sold 170,000 tickets across 55 acts, with close to half of ticket holders travelling from outside Wales. The series has traditionally closed with DEPOT in the Castle, a one-day family-friendly festival with street food and activities. The 2027 run takes place from 24 June to 9 July; individual shows are announced and ticketed separately.
