About
The Shropshire County Show is run by the Shropshire and West Midlands Agricultural Society and is held at the DMOS People West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury. The show began in the late 19th century and marked its 150th anniversary in 2025. For 2027 the society has moved the show forward by a week, to the Saturday before the late May bank holiday, to avoid half-term and clashes with other regional events.
Visitors can expect horse and livestock rings with a Grand Parade of champions, a main arena featuring Young Farmers' floats, and a Countryside Arena with acts such as sheepdogs and racing pigs. There is a Youth Zone with activities including extreme mountain biking, parkour, archery and canoeing, plus a bandstand, children's entertainment, vintage displays, food and trade stands.
Children aged 15 and under get in free, and tickets are sold online through the West Mid Showground ticketing site. The 2027 date falls in school term time, which the organisers say gives schools and colleges more chance to take part.
