About
Smarden Christmas Fair has been held every year since 1985 except in 2020 - cancelled due to COVID! This year the its on Saturday 31 October
The Fair has 25 stalls from charities and craftspeople, with an extensive range of Christmas cards and gifts. There will be all kinds of sewing and crochet, children's clothes and books, puppets; eco food wraps, tea towels, tote bags, jewellery, paintings, scented candles, soaps, bird boxes, polished wood gifts, home-made refreshments, and much more.
Bring cash and cards for your purchases -note that only some of the stalls will have a card machine.
Being raffled is a fabulous hamper worth over £50 with all kinds of goodies provided by Smarden Community Store.
Catering and delectables for your enjoyment during the Fair, provided by the fabulous Smarden women Carol and Margaret.
All profits from running the Fair are distributed among the charities that are in attendance, for example last year we had Canine Partners, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Labrador Rescue, Hi Kent, Kent Musculo-skeletal Therapy Centre, Pilgrim's Hospices, and RABI - Royal Agricultural Benevolent Society; and we distributed £750 among them.
Smarden is a beautiful Kentish village - all of the main street is a conservation area with houses of historical and architectural interest - a visit to the Village, the playground and the Christmas Fair is a worthwhile outing for all ages.
