Borderlines Film Festival began in 2003 and is described as the UK's largest rural film festival. It runs across Herefordshire and Shropshire along the Welsh border, and 2027 is its 25th anniversary edition.
The 2026 festival ran for 16 days with close to 300 screenings at 25 venues, from arts centres to village halls, including around 30 previews of films ahead of their UK release. The programme mixes international cinema with films that have local roots.
The festival is known for unusual screenings, including Casablanca in an aircraft hangar at Shobdon. Tickets are booked through each film's page on the festival website, and several films at one venue can go in a single basket.
