Brancepeth Castle Summer Craft Fair 2027

Craft stallholders from the North East and beyond

Brancepeth Castle holds two craft fairs a year, on the last Friday to Sunday of July and of November, and has done so since 1987. The summer fair uses the same format as the Christmas one but makes fuller use of the grassy courtyard, which becomes a pleasant place to sit in good weather while browsing.

The fairs bring together crafters from the North East and beyond, with every stall selected for quality and genuine craft work rather than resale. Exhibitors cover fine art, photography, jewellery, textiles, pottery, glassware, leather craft, woodwork, sculpture, clothing, household items and local food and drink, and the person behind each stall has made or designed what is on it.

The fair is organised and run by the castle's owners, who also serve the food in the castle cafes. It doubles as a rare chance to see inside one of the few privately owned castles in the UK.
