About
Glasgow Film Festival launched in 2005 at the Glasgow Film Theatre and has grown into Scotland's largest film festival. Its 2026 edition drew more than 37,000 attendances across 11 venues around the city.
Visitors can expect UK and world premieres, guest appearances, free morning retrospective screenings and one-off events in surprising places - past editions have even screened films on an indoor ski slope. The festival's only prize is the Audience Award, voted for by filmgoers.
The festival also hosts FrightFest Glasgow, a horror strand programmed by the London FrightFest team, plus an industry programme of networking and masterclasses. The Glasgow Film Theatre on Rose Street is the festival's home base and box office.
