About
Glasgow Short Film Festival was founded in 2008 and has become a keystone of Scotland's film calendar. The 2027 festival is its 20th edition.
The programme covers animation, live action and documentary, with Scottish and International competitions. The centrepiece Scottish Short Film Award carries a 1,000 pound cash prize, and a Young Scottish Filmmaker Prize recognises filmmakers aged 18 to 25.
In 2026 screenings were held at Glasgow Film Theatre, Civic House and the Grosvenor Picture Theatre. The festival is run by a Scottish charity, and tickets go on sale through the festival website when the programme launches.
