About
Keswick Film Festival was founded in 2000 by Keswick Film Club and is run by volunteers as a not-for-profit charity; 2027 is its 27th edition. Past guests include former patron John Hurt and filmmakers Ken Loach and Stephen Frears.
The festival offers a long weekend of new releases, anniversary screenings, documentaries and family films with special guests, plus the Osprey Short Film Awards competition.
Screenings centre on the Alhambra Cinema, the festival HQ, with partner venues Theatre by the Lake and the Rheged Centre nearby. In past years weekend passes and single tickets were sold through the Alhambra, with reduced rates for students and young people.
